WakeAct ("WakeAct," "we," "us," or "our") operates the WakeAct mobile application (the "App"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our App.
WakeAct is an alarm clock app with puzzle-based wake-up verification, sleep tracking, and gamification. It is built with privacy at its foundation. We have no servers, no accounts, and no reason to access your personal data. Everything stays on your device.
📥 Information We Collect
Alarm Settings: Times, days of the week, snooze preferences, sound choices, and puzzle difficulty levels you configure within the App.
Puzzle Completion Data: Which puzzles you solve, completion times, accuracy, and difficulty progression. Used to track your wake-up streaks and adjust challenge levels.
App Blocking Preferences: If you enable app blocking to prevent phone use until puzzles are completed, your blocking preferences are stored locally on your device.
Apple HealthKit Data: With your explicit permission, the App reads sleep analysis and heart rate data from HealthKit to provide sleep quality insights. This data is read-only and is never written back to HealthKit, transmitted to any server, or shared with anyone.
Sleep Trends: Aggregated sleep patterns derived from HealthKit data are stored locally to power your sleep quality dashboard.
Streaks: Your consecutive wake-up streak count, longest streak, and streak history.
XP & Levels: Experience points earned from completing puzzles and maintaining streaks.
Achievements: Badges and milestones you have unlocked within the App.
All gamification data is stored locally on your device and optionally synced via iCloud.
🚫 What We Don't Collect

WakeAct has no server infrastructure and no tracking whatsoever.
WakeAct does not collect any of the following:
Analytics data: No usage analytics, no page views, no session tracking
Advertising data: No ad identifiers, no ad networks, no retargeting
User tracking: No cookies, no fingerprinting, no behavioral profiling
Server-side data: We have no servers. There is nowhere for your data to go.
Account information: No accounts are required. No email, no password, no sign-in.
Location data: We do not access or store your location
Contact information: We do not access your contacts, calendar, or other personal data
⚙️ How We Use Your Information
All data collected by WakeAct is used exclusively on your device to:
Trigger alarms at your configured times
Present wake-up puzzles at the correct difficulty level
Track your wake-up streaks, XP, and achievements
Display sleep quality insights from HealthKit data
Block designated apps until puzzles are completed
Sync your data across your own devices via iCloud (if enabled)
No data is sent to us or any third party for any purpose.
❤️ HealthKit Integration

Read-only access, never transmitted
WakeAct requests read-only access to Apple HealthKit for sleep analysis and heart rate data. This data is processed entirely on your device to generate sleep quality insights. It is never written back to HealthKit, transmitted to any server, shared with third parties, or used for advertising.
You can grant or revoke HealthKit permissions at any time through Settings > Health > Data Access on your device. WakeAct functions fully without HealthKit access — sleep tracking insights will simply be unavailable.

Your data is stored in the following locations:

On-Device StorageAll data is stored locally using SwiftData. This is the primary and default storage location.

iCloud Sync (Optional)If you enable iCloud sync, your alarm settings, streaks, XP, and achievements are synced to your private iCloud container. This data is associated with your Apple ID and is not accessible to WakeAct or any third party.
We do not operate any servers. There is no WakeAct backend, database, or cloud infrastructure of any kind.

All on-device data is protected by iOS file-level encryption, which is tied to your device passcode.

WakeAct supports Face ID and Touch ID to prevent unauthorized access to your alarm settings and data.

Data synced via iCloud is encrypted in transit and at rest by Apple's infrastructure.
✈️Offline-First Design
The App is fully functional offline. No internet connection is ever required.

We do not share, sell, or transmit your data. Ever.
Since WakeAct has no server infrastructure and collects no data from you, there is nothing to share. Your data exists only on your device and, if you opt in, in your private iCloud container controlled by your Apple ID.
The only circumstance in which data could be disclosed is if required by law and you are compelled to provide access to your physical device. We have no ability to access your data remotely.

You have the following rights regarding your data:
Access & Portability
All your data is stored on your device. You always have full, direct access to it.
Deletion
Delete all data at any time by deleting the App. iCloud data can be managed through your Apple ID settings.
HealthKit Permissions
Revoke HealthKit access at any time through Settings > Health > Data Access on your device.
iCloud Sync
Disable iCloud sync at any time. Your data will remain on your current device only.
👶 Children's Privacy
WakeAct does not collect personal information from any user, regardless of age. Since no accounts are required and no data is transmitted, there is no mechanism through which we could collect information from children. The App is suitable for users of all ages.
⚖️ California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). Since WakeAct does not collect, store, or transmit any personal information to our servers, there is no personal data for us to disclose, delete, or sell. We do not sell personal information.

🌍 International Users
WakeAct stores all data locally on your device. No data crosses international borders through our services. If you enable iCloud sync, Apple's iCloud infrastructure handles data storage according to Apple's own privacy policies and applicable data protection regulations.
📝 Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on our website and updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Your continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
